Exhibit: Self-Reinforced PP-Composite
Curv® made by Propex is a New Generation thermoplastic composite material made from Polypropylene that combines the versatility of a 100% thermoplastic with the high performance of a fiber reinforced composite.
In a unique and patented process, highly drawn 100% polypropylene tapes are heat treated to selectively melt every surface. The melted material bonds the woven Curv® tapes together to produce a single polymer composite. The material properties are enhanced through molecular orientation, resulting in "self-reinforcement."
High stiffness, high tensile strength and outstanding impact resistance at low density are the remarkable properties of this material. Available in a variety of colors, Curv® offers an extraordinary aesthetic combined with an exponentially high resistance to low temperature extremes and 100% recyclability.
Our manufacturing process is very flexible and offers excellent possibilities for tailor-made solutions such as aluminum, glass or aramid combinations. Curv® sheets heated to a certain temperature can be thermoformed into a large array of shapes and angles depending upon end-use requirements.
Today’s application areas are wide: suitcases, sport equipment, automotive parts, anti-ballistic products, sandwich panels, etc.
Furthermore Propex provides a full line of synthetic geotextiles and concrete reinforcement fibers, backing and furnishing solutions, and industrial and agricultural packaging and materials.
