SCHOTT NEXTREMA®glass-ceramic material platform: Engineered and designed for extreme conditions

NEXTREMA® heat-resistant glass-ceramic combines the benefits of technical glass formulations with the properties of high temperature materials. Due to the special sheet production process of NEXTREMA®, it is available in six different variants of glass-ceramic material – with thicknesses ranging from 2 – 6 mm.

NEXTREMA® will be a welcome alternative for generating new product ideas and innovations. The material will even have a lasting impression on designers and end consumers. Six attractive glossy design options and color impressions give technical functionality a new look.

NEXTREMA® will surely impress you with its application versatility and unique properties:

• Availability of large sheets of up to 1,950 mm x 1,100 mm
• Thicknesses from 2 mm – 6 mm (>6 mm on request)
• Heat resistant, with a near-zero coefficient of linear thermal expansion
• 6 unique transmission profiles in visible and infrared range
• Withstands operating temperatures up to 950°C
• A high intrinsic mechanical strength of up to 165 MPa
• Thermal shock resistance of up to 820°C
• Excellent chemical resistance
